The G2D filter.
Graded Density Depth filtration: a filter element whose pore structure tightens from the outside in, so each particle is stopped at the depth that matches its size.
Coarse at the rim.
Finest at the core.
Oil enters across the whole outer surface, where the pores are widest, and travels inward. The largest particles are held at the face; progressively finer contaminant is retained as the matrix tightens. Only clean oil reaches the hollow core and returns to the system.
More dirt held,
fewer element changes.
A surface filter cakes on one face and blinds. A depth filter loads contaminant through its whole thickness, which is why the G2D element holds significantly more dirt before it needs replacing — at the same assured oil quality.
Contaminant is locked through the depth of the medium rather than caked on one face, so the element runs far longer between changes.
