Sector

Auto Ancillary

Plants with many small and medium machines, where the cost of downtime can far exceed the cost of the component that fails.

Auto Ancillary plant
Maximum Uptime
Clean oil reduces contamination-related failures, keeping machines running and production uninterrupted.
Higher Equipment Reliability
Maintaining the required NAS/ISO quality protects critical equipment and supports dependable operation.
Longer Component Life
Reduced wear extends the life of pumps, valves and other critical components.

The problem in this sector

What makes auto ancillary
different.

The defining challenge

Tank count
Dozens of small tanks rather than a few large reservoirs, which inverts the economics of purification.

Oil contamination accelerates wear and component failure — making machine reliability and uninterrupted production the real priority.

A typical auto ancillary unit uses a multitude of small and medium sized hydraulic equipment for moulding, pressing or forging operations. The machines generally have small oil tanks, and using a separate machine individually for each tank may not be the best solution.

VATS solved this with Fluent PRIMA, an Online Continuous Filter (OCF) fitted directly into the main oil system. The filter uses system pressure to function, which means no external pump and motor are required. In forging, fabrication and machining, removing particles and metal fines is what protects both component quality and the machine itself.

Points of application

Where the oil
is at work.

Select a point to see what the application involves and which machine is applied. These are the locations in a auto ancillary operation where oil quality determines whether the equipment reaches its next overhaul.

Point of application

Presses and forging

The ancillary industry is characterised by a number of identical machines in a workshop for pressing and forging operations. Each machine carries its own hydraulic oil reservoir to be maintained at a specified NAS level.

Point of application

Pressure die casting

Pressure die casting machines carry their own hydraulic oil reservoir, to be maintained at a specified NAS level.

Point of application

Injection moulding

Injection moulding machines carry their own hydraulic oil reservoir, to be maintained at a specified NAS level.
