Engine Test Rig
Application- DuringPetrol or Diesel engine manufacturing during actual hot test oil is filled in the engine and tested for specific duration.
Background of Development:
During Hot test of Engine dust, grease, graphite,sealant, moisture, etc. is released along with these contamination carbon soot during actual hot test is mixed in the Engine oil. This oil is re used for subsequent engine test applications resulting into gradually increment in contamination.
At some point of time oil is so much contaminated that it is not wise to use this dirty oil. And eventually it calls for replacement of oil.
Resultant of current practice (Problem / Issue)
After engine testing oil is drained. Some oil is left out in the engine say 200 ml to 2 lit which is approximately some % of total required oil. This residual oil is retained in the engine is responsible for contaminating first fill oil during final assembly.
And finally resulting in (a) Reduction in performance (b) component failure, during Warrantee Period.
